Drone task force asks for help locating large van, trailer

Several dozen people from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies attended a strategy meeting Monday, Jan. 6, in Brush regarding the drones that have remained a mystery in the region since the middle of December. Large drones have been spotted flying at night in grid patterns in an area that has become increasingly widespread, but nobody seems to know where they come from, who’s flying them or what they’re doing.

Phillips County Sheriff’s Office reported on Facebook after Monday’s meeting that none of the agencies involved can confirm that the drones are malicious.

A task force has been organized, and it’s asking for community assistance. “Specifically, we are looking for the command vehicle,” said PCSO on Facebook. They are on the hunt for a closed box trailer with antennas or a large van that does not appear to belong in the area. If anyone sees something that resembles this description, they should call PCSO at 970-854-3644. Call 911 for immediate assistance.
