Rec department annual review is Feb. 12
The public is invited to attend the annual review of the City of Holyoke Recreation Department. It will be presented by recreation director Victoria Dunker Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Peerless Center.
Hethcote to speak at salad luncheon
The Friends of the Library’s annual salad luncheon is set for Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the Phillips County Museum. Community members are invited to take a salad and a friend and learn about the organization. Attendees will also get to meet author Shirley Hethcote, who wrote “Pokie, A Story About My Favorite Toy.”
Gun club winter league starts Sunday
Holyoke Gun Club’s winter league begins Sunday, Feb. 9. A fun shoot starts at 2 p.m., followed by a meal, meeting and sign-up at 5 p.m. The winter league lasts for six weeks on Monday nights from Feb. 17 to March 23. Colorado experiences weather whiplash
Not only did Punxsutawney Phil fail to see his shadow, thus predicting an early spring, Groundhog Day brought some welcomed warm weather to Colorado. Holyoke’s high reached 78 F on Sunday, and many were seen enjoying the outdoors. Unfortunately, the warm weather didn’t stick around. Monday’s high temperature was a mere 27 F.
