Cruise the town while distancing

Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is coordinating a cruise night Saturday, May 9, from 6-8 p.m. Chamber director Holly Ferguson said the event is a way to celebrate community and its strength and perseverance through the pandemic.

Various restaurants are offering specials. An official cruise will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center parking lot. Holyoke Police Department will lead the cruise down Interocean Avenue, then past the nursing home and hospital.

While pegged as an event leading back into socializing, residents are reminded to stay in their cars and to follow the COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
