Summer break begins; free meals continue

Students in Holyoke School District are officially starting summer break Friday, May 22, although it is looking a bit different because students have been doing schoolwork online instead of in person during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were assigned a time Wednesday, Thursday or Friday to drive by the elementary school to check in Chromebooks, chargers, library books and band instruments; pay dues and fees; and pick up any items they had left at the school.

Even though the school year has come to a close, free breakfasts and lunches will be available to children ages 1-18 through the summer. Meals can be picked up at the elementary school between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on weekdays. For more information, call the district office at 970-854-3634.
