Preschool to host drive-thru grad parade

Dragon’s Wagon Preschool is inviting the community to the Phillips County Event Center parking lot Thursday, May 28, from 6-7 p.m. Preschool students who are moving on to kindergarten in the fall will be receiving their graduation certificates. Attendees should park in the southwest area of the parking lot, stay in their vehicles and honk for the special graduates.

 

Adopt a senior this summer

Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is inviting community members to sign up for a new adopt-a-senior program to boost the spirits of residents at Regent Park during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who sign up are encouraged to send cards, letters, care packages or even kids drawings to their adopted senior at least once a week throughout the summer. Ring in summer this Friday

Since the final school bells across the state aren’t actually ringing this year to indicate the start of summer break, Generation Wild is inviting people to “Ring in Summer” this Friday, May 29. At 3 p.m., grab a bell, step outside, and ring it for the kids and the teachers. Let’s kick off summer with a clang!

 

Raceway is opening Friday, Saturday

Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke is opening its season Friday and Saturday, May 29-30, at 7 p.m. both evenings, with IMCA divisions with full points being offered.

Social distancing will be practiced, and facemasks are recommended. “We are working on a limited amount of fans but are excited to kick the season off on our original scheduled date,” said promoter Joe Bellm.
