Get pets vaccinated, licensed Saturday
In a joint project between the City of Holyoke and Phillips County, an animal clinic is set for Saturday, June 10, from 9-11 a.m. at Holyoke Vet Service, east of Holyoke on Highway 6.
City ordinance requires all dogs harbored within the city to be licensed. All dogs must be vaccinated every other year with antirabies vaccine, and proof from a licensed veterinarian is necessary before a license will be issued. Saturday’s animal clinic is a great opportunity for any new dogs or dogs with tags expiring in 2017 to be licensed.
It’s also strongly encouraged that all other dogs and cats within Phillips County be vaccinated even though a license is not required.
Contact Holyoke Vet Service, 970-854-3800, prior to the clinic day for pet records if needed.

Register for Dandelion Daze
Dandelion Daze is just around the corner, but there is still time to register cars and booths for the Saturday, June 17, event on the Phillips County Courthouse lawn.
The car/bike show is the center of the annual family fun day. To enter a car or bike in the show, registration forms are available at the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce website, holyokechamber.org. Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged and can be mailed to the Chamber at P.O. Box 134, Holyoke, CO 80734. Day-of registration is 8-11 a.m. at the courthouse lawn. Show and shine will continue until 3 p.m., and awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m.
Those interested in setting up a booth — exhibits, crafts, vendors, food — are also encouraged to register early but can sign up June 17, as well. Setup begins at 7 a.m., and booths will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Booth space is a 10-foot-by-10-foot area, and vendors are responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs, extension cords, etc.
For more info, contact the Chamber at 970-854-3517 or director@holyokechamber.org.
