Fireworks show planned for July 4

Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fireworks show is Saturday, July 4, around 9:30 p.m. The fireworks will be set off at the southeast corner of town. HVFD has donation buckets out in local businesses to raise money for next year’s July 4 fireworks show.

 

Free COVID-19 antibody testing offered

Melissa Memorial Hospital is offering free COVID-19 antibody testing Thursdays, July 9 and 16, from 8 a.m.-noon in the MMH group room. Fasting is not needed. The test determines a person’s level of resistance, or immune response, to the COVID-19 virus.

 

County receives $25K for food assistance

Phillips County Department of Human Services was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the Colorado COVID Relief Fund to assist low income, immigrant, elderly and those in need, in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The monies from this grant provide supplemental food assistance to those affected by COVID-19 by distributing grocery store and restaurant vouchers, which also supports Phillips County’s businesses. Across five rounds of funding, 765 community-based organizations in Colorado received a total of more than $16 million.

 

Look for election results next week

The Enterprise will be reporting the results of the June 30 primary election next week.
