School/community calendars available on monthly basis this year

Due to ever-changing updates to the 2020-21 school and community calendar, a monthly update will be available, rather than the full-year calendar that residents have utilized in the past.

Copies of the monthly calendar will be available approximately the 24th of the month prior. The calendar will be posted on the school district and chamber websites, and copies can be picked up at the two schools, three banks and credit union in the community.

Public hearing to resume Sept. 2 for conditional use permit for feedlot

A public hearing regarding a conditional use application for Weldco Farms LLC for a proposed commercial feedlot southwest of Holyoke for Aurora Organic Dairy will continue Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center in Heginbotham Hall.

On July 27, the Phillips County Board of Adjustment held an initial hearing on the application for the 7,000-head dairy heifer facility.

Redistricting commissioner applications open

Coloradans can apply to be commissioners on the new Colorado Independent Redistricting Commissions. Applications for both congressional and state legislative commissions are open at https://redistricting.colorado.gov/. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, Nov. 10.
