Nominations sought for Alumni of the Plains

Northeast Colorado’s Pro 15 is seeking nominations for Alumni of the Plains. This is the 20th anniversary, and Pro 15 is hoping to induct a new person from each of its 15 counties, including Phillips County. The nominee should be someone who graduated from high school in one of the counties and has gone on to be outstanding in their career, community or personal success. Forms can be accessed at https://pro15.org/alumni-of-the-plains-awards/ and should be submitted by Thursday, Sept. 10.

 

County board to present feedlot recommendations next Wednesday

The Phillips County Board of Adjustment will resume its public hearing for a conditional use permit for Weldco Farms LLC’s commercial feedlot Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center. The county recently clarified that the board will be presenting to the public what their recommendations to the Phillips County commissioners are and how they made their decision.

There will be no public comment; however, the board noted they are appreciative to the community for comments both at the first meeting and through written correspondence.

 

The Oak Tree to close Saturday

The final day of business for The Oak Tree is Saturday, Aug. 29. Immediate future plans for the business/building are pending.
