Sign up for Melissa Memorial Hospital’s Sept. 18 golf tournament

The Melissa Memorial Hospital golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, at 8 a.m. at Holyoke Golf Club. It is being coordinated by the EMS and rehab departments.

Team fees for the 18-hole, four-person scramble include golf fees, door prizes, lunch, drink tickets and chances to win great prizes — a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a hole-in-one sponsored by Bank of Colorado, $5,000 cash for the putting contest sponsored by Happy Jacks Barbeque and other pin/hole prizes. The day will finish with a silent auction.

West Phillips County cemetery tour set for this Saturday

After touring the cemeteries in the east half of the county earlier this year, Phillips County Historical Society has scheduled a tour in the west part of the county Saturday, Sept. 11. To carpool from Holyoke, meet at the museum at 8 a.m. Otherwise, meet at the Haxtun Cemetery at 8:30 a.m. From there, the group will travel to Fairfield, Paoli, Posegate and Jarvis cemeteries.

Book sale coming up at library

Friends of the Library’s Book Bonanza is set for Saturday, Sept. 11, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 17, from noon-5 p.m in the carriage house at the Heginbotham Library. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit the library.
