Kids program kicks off at Baptist church
Kids age 4 through sixth grade are invited to BASIC Training at First Baptist Church, 1000 E. Johnson St., Holyoke, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings beginning Oct. 6. The free weekly program includes games, songs, Bible stories and interaction in a supportive environment.
Inklings brings back storytime
Inklings Bookstore is resuming its storytime hour Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. Organizers hope to hold this free event the first Saturday of every month. It’s open to all ages but is geared toward toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students. This Saturday, the group will be reading “Favorite Room on the Broom,” having a treat and watching the film based on the book.
Rally is this Wednesday
Hannah Goodman and Brittany Daniel are hosting a peaceful rally Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the courthouse to protest vaccine mandates and encourage commissioners to declare Phillips County a sanctuary county against the mandates.
Steak fry in Venango on Oct. 9
American Legion in Venango, Nebraska, is hosting a steak fry and salad bar Saturday, Oct. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the Venango Legion Hall.
