Lighting contest judging is next Thursday

Judging for the 30th annual holiday lighting/decorating contest is set for Thursday, Dec. 16. To be included for judging, residents should simply have their lights on and/or decorations up by 6 p.m. Any display within Holyoke city limits or in a half-mile radius is eligible (except 2020 winners).

Judging will be based on originality, decorative effect and overall effect. Cash prizes include $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. To make sure the judges don’t miss a display you’ve admired, call the one of the two contest sponsors: The Holyoke Enterprise at 970-854-2811 or city of Holyoke at 970-854-2266.
