Health, fitness program kicks off in January

The 12-week A Healthier Weigh program begins soon. Individuals/teams can pick up entry forms at the Phillips County Extension office, and there will be a weigh-in Friday, Jan. 7. For more info, call 970-854-3616.

Baby Bear Hugs announces winners

Baby Bear Hugs held the 15th annual Cash for Christmas Raffle on Friday, Dec. 10, at the regional office in Yuma. Santa and Mrs. Claus were present to draw the winning tickets, assisted by Justin Coughlin, Baby Bear Hugs games manager. There were seven prizes totaling $2,000. The winners included IV Vance, Brad Whitman, Michael Schell, Brenda Brandt, Jessica Sisseck, Jill Walkinshaw and Torrey Burgess, representing five different counties. A total of $7,890 was raised for Baby Bear Hugs this year. The funding raised by the raffle will benefit children and families in Elbert, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties.  It will promote school readiness and provide parenting education and support to expecting parents and families with infants and toddlers.

Enterprise closed for holiday

The Holyoke Enterprise office will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s Eve.
