‘Singin’ in the Rain’ is spring musical

“Singin’ in the Rain” was selected as this year’s spring musical at Holyoke JR/SR High School. Cast auditions were announced for Tuesday, Jan. 18, and Thursday, Jan. 20, from 7-9 p.m. for all students in grades 7-12. Performances have been set for Friday-Saturday, April 22-23.

 

Enterprise to be closed Friday afternoons

The Holyoke Enterprise recently announced it will be closed on Friday afternoons. Office hours are now 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 8 a.m.-noon on Thursday and Friday.

 

Eureka Club celebration is Saturday

A celebration for Eureka Club’s 70th anniversary is set for Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Phillips County Museum. Friends, past members, their families and the public are invited to stop by between 2-4 p.m. for refreshments and to share special memories.

 

Honor bands to perform Monday

Holyoke is hosting an honor band event for students from nine area schools Monday, Jan. 24, and the public is invited to a concert at 6:30 p.m. in the Holyoke JR/SR High School auditorium. Guest directors are Dr. Wesley Broadnax from the University of Northern Colorado and Rachel Lowrey from Akron School District.  

 

HVFD elects new officers

New officers recently elected for Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department include Stacy Rue­ter, chief; Gabe Hubbard, first assistant; Ed Race, second assistant; Josh Young, president; John Durbin, vice president; Morgan Eurich, secretary; and Jason Borland, treasurer.
