Daylight saving time begins Sunday

Residents are reminded to “spring forward” and set their clocks ahead one hour as daylight saving time officially begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 13.

 

Soccer registration now open

Families can now register for Holyoke recreation department’s soccer program. It’s available for preschoolers (must be 5 by April 1) through high schoolers. Forms and fees must be turned in by Wednesday, March 16. Practice will begin Monday, March 21. Check the department’s Facebook page or call Victoria Dunker at 970-580-3659 for more info.

 

Spring break starts Friday

Holyoke School District will not have class Friday, March 11, through Friday, March 18, due to spring break. School resumes Monday, March 21.

 

Historical society plans Hobo Party

Phillips County Historical Society says, “Come as a bum!” to its Hobo Party on Wednesday, March 16, at the Phillips County Museum in Holyoke. Ham and beans and cornbread are on the menu for a 5:30 p.m. supper, and the night will include card games. Freewill donations will be accepted.

 

Lincoln Day Luncheon is March 20

The Phillips County Lincoln Day Luncheon and Republican County Assembly is set for Sunday, March 20, at Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke.
