Recycling Walk Day set for Friday

Holyoke FCCLA members Aleida Millan and Elly Brown are hosting a Recycling Walk Day for their FCCLA Sustainable Communities project. Community members are invited to meet by the recycling bins in the 100 block of North Morlan Avenue at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18.

Groups will walk around town to gather recyclable litter to recycle. Trash bags, gloves, drinks and snacks will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle. The event is estimated to end around 5 p.m.

 

Soup supper, cornhole tourney are Saturday

Wages and Wauneta fire department families and friends have organized a benefit soup supper, live auction, gun raffle and cornhole tournament to honor Gail and Steve Schafer.

The fun starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Phillips County Event Center. Cornhole entries will close at 6:30 p.m.

Credit union annual meeting set for Tuesday

The annual meeting of the Holyoke/Imperial Community Federal Credit Union is Tuesday, March 22, at Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke.

Registration and supper begin at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will follow at 7 p.m. There will also be a young members’ meeting for ages 3-9.

Some lucky people will have the chance to enter the money machine or spin the wheel of fortune during the meeting.
