2017-2018 community, school calendars available this week
     A detailed community calendar sponsored by the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, Holyoke School District and area businesses will be made available at back-to-school night Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 5-6 p.m.
     Following back-to-school night, the calendars will also be available at local businesses or at the school office. The calendar contains community, school and athletic events as well as club and organization meetings and national holidays.
     Because school activities are subject to change, the school website can be checked for updates to ensure accuracy at www.hcosd.org.
    
FCA kicks off next Wednesday
      All junior high and high school kids are invited to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes kickoff Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Holyoke City Park. The fun night will include free supper, games, activities and a speaker.
      FCA is a nondenominational youth group for any junior high and high school students, both athletes and nonathletes. The group meets every Wednesday during the school year, usually at the Peerless Center from 7-9 p.m.

Chamber hosting after-hours social Tuesday
     Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual social next Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Happy Jacks Barbeque. There is no cost to attend, but deadline to RSVP is Monday, Aug. 21, at noon.
