School’s out for the summer!

Students in Holyoke School District will officially be on summer break after a half day of school Thursday, May 26.

 

Memorial Day program set for Monday

Memorial Day in Holyoke will be commemorated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the pavilion in the cemetery. Lt. Col. Bob Russell will be the guest speaker. The high school band will play two patriotic songs, and Aaron Cottam will play taps. Emmy, Elly and Mike Brown will also perform a song.

Volunteers who would like to place/remove flags on/from veterans’ graves at Holyoke Cemetery should meet at the entrance Friday, May 27, at 5 p.m. and Monday, May 30, at 5 p.m.

 

Long to speak at Venango Cemetery

John Long of Grant, Nebraska, will be the guest speaker at the Memorial Day program Monday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Venango, Nebraska, cemetery. Coffee and cookies will be served afterward at the Legion Hall in Venango.

 

Enterprise sets early deadline

Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the deadline for The Holyoke Enterprise’s June 1 edition has been bumped up to Friday, May 27, at noon for news, classifieds, legals and display ads. The newspaper office will be closed Monday, May 30.
