Keepsake edition applauds fair participants
    Inserted in this week’s Enterprise is a new special section featuring results and photos from 4-H, FFA and open class competitions at the July 25-30 Phillips County Fair. The keepsake edition also includes messages of congratulations from local businesses and thank-you notes from fair participants. View it for free here.
    
Free English classes offered at Zion Lutheran
    Zion Lutheran Church of Holyoke will offer free English classes covering basic and advanced levels, beginning Thursday, Sept. 7.
    The class will be held every Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. Registration will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, and Friday, Sept. 1, from 7-9 p.m. at the church located at 240 S. High School Ave.
    The class will meet weekly for three months, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion. A family-friendly atmosphere will be provided. For more information, contact Pastor Pedro Jofre at 970-466-2548.
    
Girl Scouts to start new year Monday
    Current Girl Scouts, interested girls and parents are invited to a Girl Scout game and registration night Monday, Aug. 28, from 4:30-6 p.m. at Homesteaders Park.
    They will have the opportunity to not only learn more about Girl Scouts in Holyoke but also have some fun competitions and games. Parents will have a meeting and find out more about registration. For more information, contact Lori Kramer at 970-854-5359.
    
Cub Scouts plan recruit night next Tuesday
    A night for new Cub Scout recruits — first grade and older — has been set for Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Holyoke Lions Den.
