Plan to attend cancer walk Aug. 19
Melissa Memorial Hospital is hosting a cancer walk Friday, Aug. 19, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the MMH parking lot, 1001 E. Johnson St., Holyoke. The evening will include free activities like outdoor games and face painting as well as food available for purchase. Don’t forget a lawn chair!
The walk will kick off at 7 p.m., beginning with speeches by community members who are close to this mission.
The lot will be lined with “In Memory of” and “In Honor of” luminaria, which are available to purchase by contacting 970-854-2241 — Brittany McCallum, ext. 2001; Sarah Bornhoft, ext. 2024; or Penny Bailey, ext. 2048.
All proceeds will go toward developing community education. Funds will help MMH encourage and educate the community regarding treatment, screenings and options available to people and their loved ones.
Toy, collectible show is Sunday
A toy and collectible show is set for Sunday, Aug. 14, from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Mueseum, 109 S. Campbell Ave., Holyoke. To display items or for more information, call Charly Triplette at 970-854-3256.
Coloradans to get cash back
If you were 18 or older on Dec. 31, 2021, if you were a Colorado resident for the entire 2021 income tax year, and if you filed a state income tax return for 2021 or applied for a property tax/rent/heat credit rebate, you qualify for Colorado Cash Back.
Checks of $750 for individual filers and $1,500 for joint filers will be issued by Sept. 30 for those who filed by June 30.
