Public meeting on flood risk study is Oct. 19

Phillips County and City of Holyoke, in partnership with FEMA, CWCB and the CDM Smith engineering team, will be holding a public meeting/open house to discuss the ongoing Phillips County and communities flood risk study, including the next steps in the process, answer questions, present citizen-targeted resources and materials, highlight key details about the National Flood Insurance Program, and discuss the changes in flood zones and flood risk information.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 6-7 p.m. at the Bank of Colorado Pavilion meeting room at Phillips County Fairgrounds.

 

Election ballots to be delivered this week

Ballots for the Tuesday, Nov. 8, election are expected to be delivered to mailboxes this week. Ballots must be returned the Phillips County clerk and recorder no later than 7 p.m. on Nov. 8. Postmarks of mailed ballots do not count. Anyone who thinks they should have received a ballot but has not should contact the county clerk’s office at 970-854-3131.

NCHD to hold community engagement meeting

Northeast Colorado Health Department is currently conducting a community health assessment. A community engagement meeting will be held in Phillips County on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 1-3 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center. A community health assessment survey is also available on their website, www.nchd.org.
