Sunshine Gang to meet Thursday

Sunshine Gang, a new local group for those age 55 and up, will meet Thursday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at Sunset View for crafts, games, food and more. 

Veterans Day breakfast, program are next Thursday

Veterans are invited to a breakfast in the Holyoke JR/SR High School commons area next Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8-9 a.m. A program, which is open to the community, will begin at 9 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The three winning Voice of Democracy speeches and musical presentations will be provided by students, and local guest speaker will be Rodger Barnard.

Free Medicare comparison counseling offered

During open enrollment — Oct. 15-Dec. 7 — Medicare beneficiaries have the option to compare and switch their current Part D prescription drug plan with new upcoming plans for 2023. Even for those who are happy with their current plans, it’s a good idea to compare options to ensure they have a plan that fits their needs and budget.

The Northeast Colorado Area Agency on Aging, along with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, is providing this free comparison counseling service to northeast Colorado community members. Marlene Miller and her team will be in Haxtun on Monday, Nov. 7, and Holyoke on Wednesday, Nov. 9. To schedule an appointment, call Miller at 970-848-2277.
