Regent Park and Carriage House hosting food drive, starting Dec. 1

The residents of Regent Park and Carriage House are hosting a food drive Dec. 1-22 to collect nonperishable food items for the local food pantries. Drop-off locations are Regent Park and Carriage House or Holyoke Marketplace. 

 

Toy and food drive to be held Dec. 6

Mike Neill State Farm Insurance, Star 92.3 KSTH and the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the 13th annual toy and food drive Tuesday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 118 N. Interocean Ave. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and/or any nonperishable food item to be distributed to local children and their families this holiday season. 

 

Get decorations up for annual lighting contest

The 31st annual holiday lighting/decorating contest is set for Tuesday, Dec. 13. To be included for judging, turn on lights and/or have decorations up at 6 p.m. that evening.

Any display within Holyoke city limits or within a half-mile radius is eligible — but last year’s winners are not eligible this year.

 

Colorado Corn hosting meeting Dec. 6

The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee is hosting a district meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke. A lunch will be provided.

CCAC staff will be discussing CCAC updates and taking feedback on the research program. They will also have guests from the U.S. Grains Council and USMEF to talk about issues impacting the corn industry and how the checkoff investment is utilized.
