Make plans for alumni banquet May 28

The Holyoke Alumni Association is planning its annual banquet, which will honor the classes of 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2023. The event will be Sunday, May 28, at Sunset View, with social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by Friday, May 19. Call Helen Miller, president, at 970-520-3548.

Preschool supper, program is May 11

“Paint Me a Rainbow” is the theme of the 2023 Dragon’s Wagon Preschool program. A spaghetti supper is planned for Thursday, May 11, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center, followed by a program at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchase at the door or in advance from preschool parents. A fundraising auction will be on Facebook from May 11-15.

City will mail out landfill vouchers soon

The city of Holyoke will be mailing out vouchers to be used at the landfill to replace citywide cleanup for 2023. Please pay attention to your mail to not discard them as there will not be any more printed. 

Post office food drive is Saturday

The United States Postal Service Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive will be held this Saturday, May 13. Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.

Landfill roll-off boxes temporarily unavailable

Phillips County Landfill’s roll-off dumpsters are temporarily unavailable. Residents will be updated when the service becomes available again.
