Siren testing is next Wednesday; look for emergency test calls, texts
Siren testing will take place next Wednesday, April 11, reported Kenny Gaskill, director of Phillips County Communications Center. Sirens will go off in Holyoke at approximately 10 a.m. and in Paoli at approximately 10:15 a.m.
If siren testing cannot be completed Wednesday due to incelment weather, the testing will take place Friday, April 13.
Emergency test alerts will be sent to the cities of Holyoke and Haxtun and the towns of Paoli and Amherst between 6:45-7:15 a.m. on April 11. A countywide alert will be tested at 6:30 p.m. Some residents could receive more than one alert that day. Gaskill asks residents to acknowledge receipt of the alert by following the prompts on the voice calls and by replying to the text messages.
For more information about signing up for alerts, call 970-854-2735.
