Learn about the Dust Bowl at museum’s Dirty ’30s card party next Wednesday
Phillips County Historical Society is celebrating the survival of the infamous Dirty ’30s Dust Bowl days with an event Wednesday, Oct. 17. A meager meal of cornbread and beans will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Museum, and the evening’s entertainment will be playing cards and games from the 1930s. Kids, accompanied by adults, are welcome to play games or take an interactive Dust Bowl journey.
Short, informative videos about the Dust Bowl will also be shown so participants can learn about the devastating effects it had on the land, the people who lived through it and how the Dust Bowl changed the future of agriculture forever. For questions, call 970-854-3616.
