Peerless sets annual meeting next Thursday
    The annual patrons meeting of the Golden Plains Recreation Center Board of Directors/Peerless Theatre is Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in the theater. GPRC will be electing board members and giving a report from the past year. Anyone who patronizes or supports the theater is eligible to serve on the board of directors or vote in the election.
   
Hospital foundation hosting celebration event
    Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Legacy of Thanks celebration is Sunday, Nov. 11, at the hospital. A light lunch will be served from noon-12:45 p.m. with the program at 1 p.m. Donors, medical professionals, volunteers and scholarship recipients will be honored.
   
Farmers invited to FFA breakfast Nov. 16
    All area farmers, harvest crews and elevator employees are invited to a free breakfast Friday, Nov. 16. The inaugural Bushels of Corn Breakfast will be served by Holyoke High School FFA from 6-8 a.m. in the high school ag shop. Attendees should take their scale tickets for a chance to win the heaviest loaded truck award, heaviest test weight award and lightest test weight award. Holyoke to host league choir concert
    Area schools will be in Holyoke on Tuesday, Nov. 13, to rehearse for the league choir concert, which is open to the public that evening at 6:30 p.m. at the HHS auditorium. Guest director for the junior high is Margie Camp of Young Voices of Colorado. Teresa Rotert, retired teacher from Hershey, Nebraska, will direct the high school choir.
