Snuggle up with newspaper on a snow day
    Whether you love or hate the white stuff, Johnson Publication’s Snow Day section has something for you. Firemen’s appreciation dinner is Monday
    A firemen’s appreciation dinner is planned for Monday, Jan. 28, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Amherst Fire Hall. The event is a chance to say “thank you” to Amherst’s retired and current volunteer firemen and women. A freewill donation jar will be available to help equip the fire department for fighting a variety of fires.   
    
Monday is honor band concert
    Some of the best junior high and high school band students in the region have earned the chance to participate in the annual honor band hosted by Holyoke JR/SR High School. The bands will be giving a concert open to the public Monday, Jan. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the HHS auditorium. The two clinicians for the event are Kenyon Schuerman, director at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, and Phuong Nguyen, teacher at Boltz Middle School in Fort Collins.

    The Holyoke Enterprise and three other Johnson Publications newspapers are compiling their annual Salute to Grain special section.
