AWANA youth program celebrates year-end achievement

Achievement and involvement in the 2018-19 AWANA program were saluted at a year-end event Wednesday, April 24, at First Baptist Church in Holyoke.
Commander Mike Frazier welcomed the AWANA clubbers and guests, with Kinley Sporhase leading the pledge to the AWANA flag and Daniel Nixon leading the pledge to the American flag.
Club members cheerfully presented songs, under the direction of Laura Beth Schroetlin, and Dr. Darrell Tomky shared Bible stories.
Each week during the AWANA year from October through April, clubbers recite Bible verses they’ve memorized. Each mastered verse puts a clubber one step closer to completing a book, earning an award and moving on to the next book of challenges in the program.
Last Wednesday’s award night recognized books completed, as well as participation.
