Bennett, Bell vows exchanged

Mallory Alayne Bennett and Robert Jay Bell were married Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at the Wellshire Inn and Event Center in Denver. The couple was originally united in marriage on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, in Centennial, Wyoming, but postponed the ceremony and celebration in Denver until 2021 due to COVID-19.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Susan Bennett of Holyoke. Her grandparents are Neil and Hilda Hassler and Peggy Bennett, all of Holyoke, and the late Merle Bennett.

The groom is the son of Robert and Jennifer Bell of Milford, Michigan. His grandparents are Jay and Karen Gordinier and Robert Bell of Milford, and Joanne Miller of Pinckney, Michigan.

The bride wore an elegant sheer ivory mermaid strapless gown enhanced with a lace covered nude bodice.

Amanda Randall of LaPorte was her sister’s matron of honor. She and the bridesmaids wore dresses of forest, sage, charcoal and grey.

Mallory’s bridesmaids were childhood friends from Holyoke: Sydney Barber, Elise Pocock and Heather Pelle; and college friends Samantha Crumley, Lexy Kruemcke, Rachel Meek, Megan Neumann and Whitney Richards. The groom’s sisters, Allie, Katie and Megan, were personal attendants.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a black bow tie.

His best men were college friends Armaan Dhillon of Chicago, Illinois, and Brian Berger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They and the groomsmen also wore black tuxes and bow ties.

Bob’s groomsmen were friends from Milford: Devin Dunn, Drew Haack and Mitch Thome; college friends Brad White and Zach Mickus; the couple’s friend from Connecticut, Stefan Jensen; and cousin Ryan Jump.

Ushers were Preston Randall, brother-in-law of the bride, and Ryan Jump and Andrew Gordinier, cousins of the groom from Michigan.

The flower girl was Brynlee Moss, cousin of the groom.  Timber Randall, the bride’s nephew, was the ring bearer. Pastor Thomas G. Lewellen of Milford officiated the ceremony, and Por La Paz, a string trio, provided traditional wedding music.

Grandmothers Peggy Bennett and Karen Gordinier did scripture readings for the couple.

A cocktail hour and dinner followed the ceremony. Dancing to live music from the band Great Family Reunion completed the evening.

Mallory is a 2011 graduate of Holyoke High School, and Bob is a 2011 graduate of Milford High School in Milford. Both completed their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting in 2016 — Mallory from the University of Denver and Bob from Michigan State University.

Mallory and Bob met in Norwalk, Connecticut, where they worked as postgraduate technical assistants at the Financial Accounting Standards Board and Governmental Accounting Standards Board, respectively.

The couple recently moved from Chicago, Illinois, to Seattle, Washington, where Mallory is pursuing her doctorate in accounting at the University of Washington, and Bob is working as a manager in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Transaction Services group at Deloitte.
