Camp offers crafts for kids, English education for parents

Phillips County Family Education Services’ Summer Fun Camp plans to wrap up Thursday, June 13, after eight fun-filled days of crafts for kids as well as English as a second language courses for parents.
PCFES Executive Director Allie Balog said the free camp  showed young attendees different ways of keeping active during the summer break from school, namely with crafts, reading and outdoor games.
“We’re just trying to get them outside and doing all sorts of different things,” she said.
It also gave parents a place to drop off their children while they worked on their English skills in a classroom next door.
