Cases climb to 99 in northeast corner

Positive COVID-19 cases have been on the rise in northeast Colorado since the first one was reported March 18. As of Monday, April 13, there were 99 cases in the six-county region of the Northeast Colorado Health Department.

Morgan County has the most with 76 positive cases, followed by Logan County with 13, Phillips and Washington counties with four apiece and Yuma County with two. Sedgwick County has yet to report any positive cases.

Of the 99, 26 are between the ages of 20-39, 33 are age 40-59, 29 are age 60-79 and 11 are age 80 and older.

Colorado’s COVID-19 case summary provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Monday afternoon reported 7,691 positive cases in 56 counties and 308 deaths.

The United States has 554,849 cases and 21,942 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday. The U.S. now has the most deaths from COVID-19 of any country.

World Health Organization’s Monday report listed 1,844,863 cases and 117,021 deaths in 213 countries across the globe.
