Chamber food drive restocks pantries

Last Wednesday, April 8, Haxtun Chamber of Commerce director Jenn Oberle, at left, and Holly Ferguson of the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce loaded up food drive items to make some much-needed deliveries to food banks in Phillips County. Donation boxes were out in local businesses for about a month. “Considering that we began this food drive days before the closures began, we are very happy with the amount we were able to disperse,” said Ferguson. The chamber-organized drive also gathered nearly $1,000 in cash donations, which will also benefit the local food banks.
