Champs rewarded at fair

   Another Phillips County Fair is in the books.
    Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion honors from animals to cooking to ag mechanics and everything in between have been awarded to 4-H and FFA members.
    Rebecca Owens and Austin Vieselmeyer are recipients of $250 scholarships sponsored by Zeiler-Owens-Lindsay VFW Post 6482 and Holyoke American Legion Post 90. Owens was the senior overall general projects award winner, while Vieselmeyer won Grand Champion honors in senior round robin livestock showmanship.
    This year, The Holyoke Enterprise will be publishing a special section with full results of these champion honors, as well as all participant honors from the 2017 county fair.
    This special section commemorative piece will be inserted in the Aug. 24 edition of the Enterprise. It will include photos of the Grand Champs and Reserve Grand Champs with their projects, as well as full results from each project area.
    In addition, the open class results will be published as part of the special section.
   GC and RGC honors that were earned at the fair follow:
    
4-H general projects
    Overall general 4-H project honors were earned this year by Rebecca Owens, senior division; Brooklyn Plumb, intermediate; and Braden Plumb, junior.
    Individual GC recognition went to Rebecca Owens, foods and nutrition; Brooklyn Plumb, leathercraft; Braden Plumb, shooting sports; Reese Steggs, cake decorating; Keegan Shaw, ceramics; Tanley Anderson, child development; Anna Jelden, clothing.
    Seth Seger, electric; Max Kleve, gardening; Cassidy Goodwin, heritage arts; Fallon Bamford, horseless horse; Megan Walker, photography; Grace Gibson, scrapbooking; Kody Donnelson, sportfishing; Kylie Donovan, veterinary science; and Jessie Bornhoft, woodworking.
    Individual RGC recognition in general 4-H projects was earned by Kristin Vieselmeyer, cake decorating; Lauren Herman, ceramics; Samantha Seger, clothing; Taylor Trumper, foods and nutrition; Ben Kleve, gardening.
    Leah Struckmeyer, heritage arts; Parker Steggs, leathercraft; Siena Donnelson, photography; Katie Gibson, scrapbooking; Theron Roll, shooting sports; Brendan Nelson, sportfishing; and Trevon Thayer, woodworking.

FFA ag mechanics
    GC ag mechanics honors went to Wyatt McCallum with his large wood project, while Kaitlyn Kent earned RGC with her small metal project.
    
Livestock projects
    GC showman award winners in the senior, intermediate and junior divisions of the beef, goat, sheep, swine and horse shows were eligible to enter round robin showmanship.
    GC round robin honors went to Austin Vieselmeyer, senior division; Brooklyn Plumb, intermediate; and Addison Oliver, junior.
    RGC round robin achievement was claimed by Taylor Hendrix, senior; Cash Weber, intermediate; and Braden Plumb, junior.
    Horse show top honors were earned by Lauren Bergner, GC senior showmanship; Taylor Hendrix, GC senior all-around, RGC senior showmanship and RGC aged geldings.
    Kaitlyn Kent, GC aged geldings and RGC senior all-around; Grace Gibson, GC intermediate all-around; Josie Schlachter, GC intermediate showmanship and RGC intermediate all-around.
    Isaac Strauss, GC aged mare and RGC intermediate showmanship; Addison Oliver, GC junior all-around, GC junior showmanship and RGC aged mare; and Megan Walker, RGC junior all-around and RGC junior showmanship.
    Rabbit show GC and RGC awards were earned by Kylie Donovan, GC senior showmanship and RGC breeding rabbit; Lauren Bergner, RGC senior showmanship; Isaiah Rueter, GC intermediate showmanship and RGC market rabbit.
    Jessie Bornhoft, RGC intermediate showmanship and GC catch-it rabbit; Jack Bornhoft, GC market rabbit; Siena Donnelson, GC junior showmanship; and Hunter Donovan, GC breeding rabbit.
    Poultry show top honors went to Isaiah Rueter, GC intermediate showmanship, GC market poultry, GC breeding poultry and RGC breeding poultry.
    Kassidy Porter, GC senior showmanship; Drew Stewart, RGC senior showmanship; Ashton Ayala, RGC intermediate showmanship; and Avian Calderon, RGC market poultry.
    Top honors in the goat show were awarded to Hailey Durbin, GC market goat and GC intermediate showmanship; Siena Donnelson, RGC market goat and RGC junior showmanship; Lucinda Mares, GC breeding goat and GC junior showmanship.
    Lauren Bergner, RGC senior showmanship and RGC breeding goat; Kaitlyn Kent, GC senior showmanship; Alyssa Lock, GC goat carcass and RGC intermediate showmaship; and Hunter Donovan, GC rate of gain and GC catch-it-goat.
    Beef show GC and RGC honors were presented to Alex Vieselmeyer, GC breeding beef, GC market beef and GC senior showmanship; Tyler Camblin, RGC senior showmanship and RGC market beef; Austin Vieselmeyer, RGC breeding beef.
    Brooklyn Plumb, GC intermediate showmanship; Cash Weber, RGC intermediate showmanship; Braden Plumb, GC junior showmanship; Colby Weber, RGC junior showmanship; Elia Wear, GC rate of gain; and Baylor Struckmeyer, GC beef carcass.
    Top honors in the sheep show went to Lucinda Mares, GC junior showmanship, GC market sheep, GC breeding sheep, GC carcass and RGC market sheep.
    Tate Knapp, GC senior showmanship; Naydeen Knapp, GC rate of gain and RGC senior showmanship; Fallon Bamford, GC intermediate showmanship; Alyssa Lock, RGC intermediate showmanship; Kash Workman, RGC junor showmanship; and Kassidy Porter, RGC breeding sheep.
   Swine honors were awarded to Austin Vieselmeyer, GC senior showmanship and GC market swine; Kaylee Camblin, RGC senior showmanship; Brooklyn Plumb, GC intermediate showmanship; Josie Schlachter, RGC intermediate showmanship; Braden Plumb, GC junior showmanship and RGC market swine; Kanin Koberstein, RGC junior showmanship; and Tristen Roll, GC swine carcass.
