Churches ready for Holy Week

    Churches in and around Holyoke have services planned for Holy Week through Easter Sunday, April 21.
    
Cornerstone Ministries
    Flatirons Church’s Easter Sunday message will be livestreamed at the Peerless Theatre at 9 a.m.
Emerson St. Church of Christ
    The church will hold a worship service on Sunday from 10-11 a.m.
Fairfield Covenant Church
    Guest speaker Bryan Kroeger will be delivering the church’s Easter message at 10 a.m.
First Baptist Church
    A 6:30 p.m. Good Friday service will be led by Ismael Lopez of the church’s Vida Abundante ministry. On Easter Sunday, a 6 a.m. sunrise service will be followed by doughnuts and coffee, Bible study at 9 a.m. and a 10 a.m. service.
First Christian Church
    After an Easter breakfast from 7-8:30 a.m., the church will hold a 9 a.m. service and egg hunt. There will be no Sunday school.
First United Methodist Church
    The Maundy Thursday service will begin at 7 p.m. On Easter, a 9:30 a.m. egg hunt will be followed by a 10 a.m. worship service.
Holyoke Assembly of God
    On Good Friday, services will begin at 9:30 a.m. An Easter Sunday breakfast will start at 9:30 a.m., with a service to follow at 10:30 a.m.
Holyoke Church of Christ
    The church will be holding its regular 9:30 a.m. service and 10:30 Bible class on Sunday.
Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church
    A Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, worshippers will meet at county roads 54 and U at 5:30 a.m. for a hilltop sunrise service at 6:04 a.m. Breakfast will start at the church at 6:54 a.m., and worship will start at 8:04 a.m., with an egg hunt to follow.
Seventh-Day Adventist Church
    The 9:45 a.m. Sabbath School and 11 a.m. worship service will be held Saturday.
St. Patrick Catholic Church
    A foot washing ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on Holy Thursday. On Good Friday, services will be held in Haxtun at noon, 3 p.m. in Fleming and 7 p.m. in Holyoke. A Divine Mercy Novena will begin Friday and be prayed through the Saturday after Easter. The church’s Easter vigil on Saturday will start at 8 p.m. and last until around 10 p.m. On Easter Sunday, 8 a.m. Mass will be in Holyoke, followed by Haxtun at 10 a.m. and Fleming at 11:30 a.m.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
Amherst and Venango

    Amherst and Venango will be holding 7 p.m. combined worship services on Maundy Thursday in Venango and Good Friday in Amherst. On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service will be held in Venango, followed by a potluck breakfast. In Amherst, a 9 a.m. service will follow breakfast at 8 a.m.
Venango Community Church
    The church’s Easter breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a service to follow.
Zion Lutheran Church
    A one-hour noon prayer service started Monday and will run through Friday. Holy Week services continued nightly through Thursday at 7 p.m., culminating in a 7 p.m. Tenebrae service on Friday. The Easter Sunday service will start at 9 a.m.
