Churches welcome partygoers, bid summer farewell
Cornerstone Ministries and First Christian Church teamed up to host a Sept. 8 barbecue to celebrate the end of summer. Members of both congregations as well as the greater community of Holyoke gathered Sunday afternoon on the FCC lawn for food, fellowship and fun.
With hot dogs and burgers on the grill, families and friends chatted and met new people. Kids — and the occasional adult — raced down inflatable slides and jumped in a bounce house. Cornhole and a giant version of KerPlunk offered fun for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, too.
