City’s convenient autumn service doesn’t leaf residents hanging

Once fall leaves are raked and piled in the street — which is easier said than done — residents in the city of Holyoke don’t have to worry about another thing. City crews are busy patrolling the streets with a machine that effortlessly sucks up the leaves, forming a green-colored dust in the air as they are deposited into the truck. City Superintendent Mark Brown said they nicknamed the machine Snuffy 2.0 after the Sesame Street character with a long trunk. While it loves eating leaves, Snuffy would prefer to not have tree branches in the mix. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
