City purchases firetruck

Holyoke City Council approved the purchase of a firetruck from Del Norte Fire Department in a special meeting Sept. 21.
The $25,000 purchase includes the 1987 Grumman AerialCat and 102-foot platform, 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump, 300-gallon water tank and full ladder complement.
“I think it’s a pretty good buy, myself,” Mayor Orville Tonsing said.
The council voted 5-0 for the purchase. Council members Kevin Scott and Scott Murray were absent.
There is not currently a time frame for when it will arrive in Holyoke.
