Holyoke FCCLA
On Friday, Oct. 26, 18 Holyoke FCCLA members and adviser Karen Ortner traveled to Northglenn to deliver the last of the packaged nonperishable meals from their Something to Eat food packaging event.
After depositing 30 boxes containing 36 family-sized meals apiece at each of Holyoke's two local food banks, the remaining 11 boxes were delivered to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Stewardship Center. Here, students had the opportunity to see firsthand the importance of projects like theirs. They toured the stewardship facility where food is both donated and directly served to over 500 families in need each week. It was a valuable experience to see the end result of their fundraising and food packaging.
The chapter then celebrated their accomplishments by eating lunch at Cinzzetti's and spending the afternoon at Boondocks Family Fun Center.
