Coloradans eligible for talking book library
The best kept secret in Colorado for over 90 years is the Colorado Talking Book Library in Denver. It has provided free library service to Coloradans of all ages and has no fee for membership.
The CTBL provides free audio, braille, descriptive video and large print books that can be delivered directly to your door postage paid keeping you connected to reading, stories and adventure.
Anyone who cannot read standard print which can be caused by blindness or low vision, such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, cataracts or glaucoma is eligible for CTBL service. Physical disabilities, such as diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, traumatic brain injury, as well as learning disabilities are also eligible.
Persons eligible for CTBL services must complete an application signed by a certifying authority such as a librarian, teacher, service provider, support group leader or doctor. Applications are available by calling CTBL 800-685-2136 or going to the website http://www.myctbl.org and clicking on the “Get Started” button.
