In March, the Lugar Center, led by former senator Richard Lugar, and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University jointly released their Bipartisan Index rankings of members for the 115th Congress (2017-2018) and ranked Sen. Cory Gardner as the fifth-most bipartisan senator.
Gardner moved up three spots from number eight in 2017 to join the top five for the 115th Congress.
“Coloradans expect their legislators to work across party lines on behalf of the state, and that is exactly what I have done throughout my time in the Senate,” Gardner said. “It’s an honor to be named among the top five most bipartisan senators as I further Colorado interests. I always prioritize working across the aisle on important issues, including protecting our public lands, working to alleviate traffic in the state and helping Coloradans pay off their student loans. I’ll continue to put Coloradans first no matter the challenge and get things done to help our great state.”
Since entering the Senate, Gardner has had eight bills signed into law, five by President Barack Obama and three by President Donald Trump. He has been ranked as the most effective member of the Colorado delegation and was awarded the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Legislative Action Award.
