Community fair stand lives up to its name

With the Phillips County Fair in the books, it was time to add up the numbers. The community fair stand served hundreds of hamburgers, cheeseburgers and slices of pie while working diligently to meet the requirements of the COVID-19 challenge.

More than $6,000 was raised to be divided between the food banks of Haxtun and Holyoke with a portion going to help fund the transient support network in both communities.

This massive effort and the vital proceeds raised would not be possible without almost 500 hours of volunteer labor, both during the fair and in the run up to it.
