COVID-19 cases continue to taper off in NE Colorado

While positive COVID-19 cases increased by 13.4% in the United States and 13.7% worldwide in the past week, numbers continue to taper off in the Northeast Colorado Health Department District, with only eight new cases this past week for less than a 1% increase.

Positive COVID-19 cases were reported Monday, July 6, as follows, with cases in Phillips County maintaining at 16:

— Northeast Colorado: 1,410 cases, including Morgan County, 655; Logan County, 640; Yuma County, 53; Washington County, 46; Phillips County, 16; and Sedgwick County, zero. The Northeast Colorado Health Department also reported that Morgan County has had 46 deaths and Logan County five. Sedgwick County, along with Dolores and Kiowa counties in Colorado remain the only three in the state without any positive confirmed cases.

— Colorado: 34,257 cases in 61 counties, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This represents a 5.4% increase in the past week. Among people who tested positive for COVID-19, 1,691 have died, and 1,542 listed COVID-19 as the reason of death on a death certificate.
