While Denver got dumped on with more than 2 feet of snow over the weekend, Holyoke seemingly dodged the bullet this time. Instead of the snow that was predicted, Holyoke’s precipitation mainly came in the form of rain — lots of rain. Official weather observer Dan Kafka recorded 3.21 inches of moisture between Friday, March 12, and Monday, March 15, with Saturday’s 2.65 inches making it the wettest day. It was enough to get some water flowing through the normally dry Frenchman Creek, pictured at the Highway 385 bridge just north of Holyoke on Monday, March 15. Colorado’s March storm, however, did put a damper on some statewide events. Both the state swim meet and state basketball playoffs were delayed due to the storm. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
