Dandelion Daze expands to 2 days for 20th anniversary

After being canceled last year due to COVID-19, the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Dandelion Daze will host many exciting events on Friday and Saturday, June 18-19.

Friday’s party in the park will be a full evening of fun which will include a Show and Shine at the Cobblestone Inn parking lot, 4 p.m.; community dinner and ice cream social at Holyoke City Park, 5 p.m.; Dance Fuzion performance, 5:30 p.m.; and cornhole tournament, 6 p.m.

Cornhole tournament registration is due Friday, June 18, before noon to the Holyoke chamber office or 4-5 p.m. at the registration table. No registrations will be accepted after 5 p.m.

From 6-10 p.m. the beer garden will be open with DJ Jason Kimble and Night Sounds entertainment.

Saturday’s festivities will be happening at several locations, beginning at 8 a.m. with citywide garage sales. Maps of garage sale locations will be at the registration table on the courthouse lawn.

Car and bike chrome show registration will be from 8-11 a.m. Show and Shine for Saturday will continue until 3 p.m. At 9 a.m. the newly added chrome show will be on the south side of the courthouse. Award winners will be announced at 3 p.m. on the west courthouse steps.

Also at the courthouse, Holyoke High School FBLA and FCCLA chapters will be serving breakfast burritos at 8:30 a.m. and the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce will serve lunch at 11 a.m. From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. exhibitor, craft, informational and vendor booths will also be open.

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at City Park there will be free kids’ and family games including Dozers Games, climbing wall, mechanical bull, inflatables, face painting, dunk tank, pet photo booth, cake walk, balloons and more.

Visitors are also invited to the Phillips County Museum located one block east of the stoplight to see their transportation area from noon-4:30 p.m. Also, the Holyoke Swimming Pool will be having open swim from 1-5 p.m.

Saturday will conclude with a cruise down Main Street led by the car and bike and chrome show participants at 4 p.m. The entire community is welcome to join in on the cruise night as well.
