Diabetes and insurance webinar available

The task of interpreting the ins and outs of insurance can be overwhelming on a good day. Adding additional treatments, medications, procedures and expenses that come with certain health conditions, such as diabetes, can complicate the process even more.

Join us Monday, March 28, from noon-1 p.m. to learn more from Shannon Christen about navigating insurance.

Christen, a certified diabetes educator and registered dietitian with the University of Colorado Hospital, will share how the social determinants of health, such as affording medications, can be a barrier to diabetes care. Christen will also provide insight on various types of insurance and explanations of how someone becomes eligible. Along with that, she will provide the pros and cons of each and how they may affect someone who has diabetes.
