Double dose of PC Players leads off with play by Dolly Smith

Audiences will get a double helping of the Phillips County Players when they present two one-act plays at the Peerless Theatre in Holyoke Saturday, Nov. 10, and Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. both days. Tickets will be available at the door.
“Kaffe Klatch” was written and directed by Holyoke’s Dolly Smith. The play, set in a 1930s/1940s kitchen, features a group of couples who are having coffee and beer before going to the theater. Their conversation centers around a compilation of jokes, tales and family lore.
The cast includes Janel Wailes as Hilda, Lauri Gibbs as Lena, Karen Swan as Anna Lisa, Megan McQuown as Inga, Eric Conklin as Henrick, Pete Markle as Ole, Jack Gorwitz as Sven, Billy Salyers as Lars and Jerry Brandt as Nels.
The second play is called “The Great Nursing Home Escape,” written by Nathan Hartswick and produced with special arrangement with Heuer Publishing LLC of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
