Due to wildfires, Black Hills urges safe digging

Wildfire has already impacted northeast Colorado, and with abnormally dry conditions across eastern Colorado and hot, dry weather in the forecast, it is more important than ever to “Call Before You Dig.”

Additionally, following wildfires, there can be a sizeable increase in underground line location requests made to the phone line Colorado 811, with some repairs considered urgent. In areas impacted by wildfire, recent markers for buried utility lines may have been destroyed and will need to be marked again.
