Ferguson hearing moved to April

After a change of attorneys and a move to Texas, Tristan Ferguson’s request for a continuance of his March 22 contested preliminary hearing in Chase County, Nebraska, Court was granted last week.
Judge Edward Steenburg approved the continuance on March 20, which moved Ferguson’s hearing to Wednesday, April 12.
Earlier this month, Ferguson informed the court he has new attorneys, Michael J. Wilson and Erin Wetzel with the Berry Law Firm in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ferguson’s court-appointed attorney, Ryan Wilcox of McCook, Nebraska, has withdrawn as his attorney of record.
Court documents show Ferguson’s new attorney, Wilson, asked that the hearing be continued to April 26, citing Ferguson’s current residence in Texas and “additional time is needed to arrange transportation and prepare for the contested preliminary hearing.”
Judge Steenburg, however, set Ferguson’s hearing for April 12.
Ferguson is charged by the state of Nebraska with manslaughter, a Class 2A felony, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony, a Class 2 felony.
The charges stem from the November 2022 shooting death of Jesse Krausnick at a home at 126 W. 12th St. in Imperial, Nebraska. He was taken into custody by Imperial police on Nov. 25 and bonded out later that day, paying 10% of his $100,000 bond.
