Fifth year may be last for Holyoke picnic

Close to 60 people enjoyed the fifth-straight all-Holyoke area picnic in Northglenn Saturday, Aug. 4, reporting a great time of reminiscing and getting acquainted or re-acquainted.
Rick Nierman and Vicki Schumacher Fisbeck, members of the Holyoke High School Class of 1964, organized the first all-Holyoke area picnic in Northglenn in 2014 after their fun 50-year high school reunion in May that year.
Nierman reported this year that they were down a little in numbers, but there were several who had never attended before who participated.
He was pleased that they were able to sign a card for coach Mark Fahring to help celebrate his 94th birthday.
“I have enjoyed planning and setting up the last five years, but now it’s time to pass the baton,” said Nierman.
